Hoop Intensive
April 9th - 15th 2025: Intermediate Level
Come and spend a week with me in the beautiful Costa Rican Jungle immersing yourself in aerial hoop and the art of spin. For six days and seven nights, we will spin, c-shape, and roll our way through a treasure trove of skills and choreography before relaxing by the pool and soaking in the sights and sounds of the Costa Rican jungle.

- Airport to Retreat Centre Drop-off/Pick-up (Includes transportation to and from the SJO airport or from a nearby pre-determined hotel in San Jose.
- 7 nights of jungle accommodation at Airborne Arts
- 3 delicious, locally sourced meals each day
- Total Aerial Hoop immersion on an open-air aerial deck with 20-25 foot ceilings and view of Diamante Falls and its surrounding valley.
- 2 structured aerial hoop classes each day
- Access to the aerial deck for individual training until 8pm each evening
- A trip to swim at Nauyaca Falls
- Swimming pool and sun deck

- Flights to/from SJO (NOTE: We are unable to organise individual travel itineraries. If for some reason you are unable to line up with our group travel plans you will be responsible for your own transportation including costs)
- Private Accommodation - Accommodation is co-ed dorm style.
- Travel insurance
- Optional flying trapeze classes, massage, et cetera (These can be booked directly through Airbourne Arts before travel)
Pre-requisites for attending
This intensive is aimed at intermediate students who have some experience with aerial hoop. I will not be covering the basics of aerial hoop during this intensive, instead I will focus on teaching my own spinning choreographies and combos.
Students should have the ability to get in and out of the hoop easily and confidently and be familiar with spinning. Flares are useful but not a requirement.
When booking the intensive you will need to submit a short video. Please don’t panic, tahe video’s are just to ensure everyone is at a similar level so that no one is struggling with the pace of the class or bored.
Even if you’re not sure you are at the right level for this reatreat please throw together a video anyway and send it onto me. The worst case scenario is you may not be able to attend the retreat but if you don’t send a video at all then you definitely wont be able to attend!
The video must contain the following:
- 1 - 3 mins of choreography (a string of tricks or sequences together) while spinning.
- Please include an entry into the hoop while spinning.
You can use a pre-existing training or performance video as long as it contains the elements above.
Cost
The full price of the retreat in 2025 is $2800 (USD). However there was an EARLY BIRD price available of $2500 if your deposit is paid by Janurary 31st.
